In a nutshell, I help create useful digital products (software) that are easy to learn and delightful to use. I think about products from the human point of view and how they could be made meaningful for their intended users. It requires an unusual but healthy mix of creative and analytical skills.

My main objective is to design products that align the business' goals with end users' expectations. For that, I rely on a design that is guided and supported by research (user-centred design).

First, I find out who my users are, and then I try to understand their expectations of the product and also their motivations and concerns (user research). Finally, I provide a validated blueprint (flowcharts, wireframes, hi-fidelity mockups and pixel specifications) for what to build and follow up with the development team and QA to ensure that it's implemented as envisioned. This is usually a big gap in product organizations, but my skills and methods help product teams in crafting positive experiences, thereby influencing significant returns on investment.

While I often collaborate with specialists in user research and interaction design, I also play multiple roles in the design process at varying capacities; including that of a user researcher, information architect, interaction designer, visual designer and usability analyst. A positive user experience is a result of effective collaboration by experts from diverse functions — from customer relations, marketing to product management, engineering, and QA. Therefore, I often play the role of a facilitator to get the teams to work together in order to design for a positive user experience.
